Nathan Brooks arrived at his mother-in-law’s house carrying a brown envelope containing divorce papers.
He was completely convinced that his wife no longer loved him.
During the entire drive, he kept rehearsing what he would say.
He would not shout.
He would not ask for explanations.
He would not beg her to remember the nine years they had spent together.
He would simply hand her the papers.
A pen.
And accept that their marriage was over.
But before he could knock…
He heard his wife, Grace, crying from a slightly open window.
Nathan froze.
