The Bottom Line
Waking up exhausted does not always mean you simply need more hours in bed.
The quality, consistency, and timing of your sleep matter. Your bedroom environment, evening habits, caffeine intake, physical activity, stress levels, and underlying sleep disorders can all play a role.
Start with the basics: maintain a consistent sleep schedule, create a comfortable sleeping environment, limit factors that interfere with sleep, stay physically active during the day, and give yourself enough time to rest.
And if you continue waking up exhausted despite making these changes, do not assume that you simply need more coffee or another quick fix. Persistent fatigue can sometimes be a sign that something deserves professional attention.
