“Where are Luna, Soleil, and Bodhi?”
“They’re home.”
“This is their home.”
“No. This is where I raised them alone while you slept in the next room.”
Ryan looked around the nearly empty house and finally noticed the folder.
He opened it.
“You filed for divorce?”
“I started the process.”
“Shaun convinced you! He has always hated me.”
“Shaun carried furniture. My mother watched the babies.”
I looked directly at him.
“But I made the decision.”
“You moved my children while I was gone?”
“I moved them somewhere I would not be raising them alone.”
“You’re keeping them from me.”
“No. A proposed parenting schedule is inside the folder. You wanted parenting to be somebody else’s responsibility. Now you can begin learning yours.”
“This is all because of one vacation?”
“The trip was not the problem. It was simply the first time you said the truth aloud.”
Ryan stared at me.
