Concerns over workplace safety have grown following a shooting incident that took place Thursday morning at a hospital near Detroit, prompting a large emergency response and temporary lockdown measures.

Authorities responded to reports of gunfire around 7:08 a.m. at a parking structure connected to Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital. Police quickly secured the area while hospital staff followed emergency safety procedures.

Suspect Reportedly Worked at the Facility
Investigators later confirmed that the suspect was an employee at the hospital. According to officials, another staff member, a 25-year-old coworker, was injured during the incident.
